C-FAARER Ocean Farming Workshop

As Coordinators of the EU Horizon 2022 Mission Ocean-funded project, C-FAARER, we invite you to meet our international project team and learn more about community-driven regenerative ocean farming. This is a unique opportunity to be part of creating a new cluster for Irish ocean farmers, processors and producers, that is aligned with Ireland’s sustainability goals for the sector and provides a source of knowledge and business support to its members. Join us in November at our workshop to help shape the future of this new cluster.

This is also an exciting opportunity to engage with a diverse team involved in ocean farming and sustainability, academia and consulting, and others in Ireland who are interested in transitioning towards more sustainable and regenerative approaches.

Project Highlight:

C-FAARER supports marine innovators, entrepreneurs, and other pioneers in Norway and Ireland in spreading knowledge and take-up of community-driven sustainable business models for regenerative ocean farming. We aim to learn from and replicate the model from one of our partners, the Norwegian Seaweed Association (NSA), which serves as an arena for support, development and innovation for its members, who are involved in all aspects of the ocean value chain including research and development.

Invitation to our Workshop:

We want you to be at the heart of this initiative! Your voice, your expertise, and your passion are absolutely essential in defining the viability and objectives of our new Irish cluster.

Event Details:

  • Date: November 16th

  • Time: 14:30 - 17:00

  • Location: Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, 182 Pearse St, Dublin 2, D02 F6N2, Ireland

Our Guest Speaker:

We are delighted to welcome Ella Sturley from Câr y Môr as our guest speaker, regarded as a pioneering example of a community-owned regenerative seaweed and shellfish farm in Wales. The business operates as an innovative Community Benefit Society (CBS), which is owned and democratically-run by its members solely for the community it serves. Join us for a fascinating and interactive workshop, involving our guest speaker, project team and other workshop participants from ocean-related businesses.

Please register if you would like to attend. It would be amazing if you could invite your suppliers or other stakeholders who should be involved. Feel free to forward the invitation to them! And should you have any questions about your participation please do get in touch. For more information about C-FAARER and our mission, you can explore our website here.
